Grand Cedar is a 75 resident aged care home, located on High Street Road in Ashwood. They provide permanent and respite care in private roomns and couple suites.
With nurses on duty 24 hours a day, plus a highly experienced team of carers and allied health care professionals, Grand Cedar are passionate about providing residents with a high standard of care and lifestyle options.
Grand Cedar understand the importance of a healthy, well balanced diet and the on-site chefs prepare restaurant quality meals every day using only the freshest ingredients and seasonal produce.
The lifestyle program promotes overall health, wellbeing and happiness. Grand Cedar encourage all residents to join in, from visiting the in-house café, well-stocked library, comfortable cinema and beauty salon, to joining in on walking groups or outings and visits to local shops and events.

The Grand Cedar senior team (Terry, Philippa and Suzie) have significant industry experience and a vision for innovative service development and management. There is continuous investment in professional training and development of the team in all areas
- All day-to-day personal care requirements involving eating, dressing, bathroom and other needs
- 24-hour support, including nursing care and in the event of emergencies
- Help with taking prescribed medication at the right time and the right quantity

Care Fee Increases
from 20 Sept 2024
From 20 September 2024, the following aged care fees will become effective:
The Basic Daily Care Fee increases to $63.57 pd (from $61.96 pd).
The Fully-Supported Asset Threshold increases to $61,500 (from $59,500).
The Non-Supported Asset Threshold increases to $206,039 (from $201,231).
The maximum Daily Accommodation Contribution (DAC) for refurbished / non-refurbished rooms will be $69.49 pd / $45.31 pd respectively.
The effective Refundable Accommodation Contribution (RAC) for a refurbished facility, above the 40 % fully supported ratio, will be $303,395 which will put pressure on persons looking for a fully supported placement, given that the average RAD is now higher than this amount.
The Maximum Permissible Interest Rate (MPIR) has not yet been finalised for 1 October 2024, however recent RBA inaction suggests that the MPIR will remain around the current 8.36% pa.
The Basic Daily Care Fee and some aged care thresholds are indexed to the Age Pension. On the 20 September 2024, the single age pension increases from $1,116.30 fn to $1,144.40 fn. This is based upon recent increases in the cost of living reflected in the Pensioner & Beneficiary Living Cost Index (PBLCI).
