How do you choose between aged care options ?

  • Choosing between the available aged care homes and making the right decision can be daunting.
  • What is the quality of care at each home?
  • Are there worthwhile activity programs available?
  • Is the aged care home within my family budget?
  • Should you take a vacancy just because it is there - or will you forever regret a hasty decision ?

There are many aspects to consider; so choosing the right aged care option can quickly become overwhelming for a beginner or the unwary.

Understanding your Options

We research and explain the available options based upon your detailed family needs and requirements. We can explain how aged care financials are calculated so that you are fully informed.

  • How much will care cost?
  • Will we need to sell the home?
  • What refundable deposit is payable?
  • What ongoing fees are payable?
  • Can we afford ongoing expenses?

Arranging Home Care Assistance

Whether you have a Home Care Package, NDIS funding or need private home care services - we can arrange home care assistance and supports for you to make sure you remain independent at home for as long as possible.

  • Need maintenance to your home?
  • Need assistance to appointments?
  • Assistance with preparing meals?
  • Need some companionship?

Securing Respite Care Placement

Respite Care can give you the chance to de-stress, restore your physical and mental energy, and keep your life in balance. Aged Care Connect can help you to arrange respite in an emergency.

We can also talk to you about local day-care activities that may be available for the person you care for. We can secure the best available respite care placement in your preferred location.

Securing Permanent Care Placement

Whether the person you care for is physically frail, has been diagnosed with dementia or just cannot cope on their own anymore - it may be time to discuss your family needs with one of our caring specialists. We can secure the best available permanent care placement in your preferred location.

Negotiating Residential Accommodation Fees

Avoid paying more for residential care than you need to! With occupancy levels at historical lows, Refundable Accommodation Deposits (RAD's) and additional service fees have never been more negotiable. We have been saving money for our family clients for many years. Talk to us if you wish to save on the RAD expenditure.

Completing Centrelink / DVA Forms

We complete all of the necessary Centrelink / DVA forms (SA457 and SA485) and answer any questions about implications for Commonwealth pensions.

We can also advise of strategies when a husband and wife are considering residential care together.

Seek independent and experienced assistance.

Covid-19 and the findings of the Royal Commission into Aged Care have increased awareness regarding quality services in aged care homes.

This has reinforced the benefit to seek independent and experienced assistance when placing your loved one into any aged care home.

Individualised Aged Care Placement Advice and Plan

An individual placement plan is developed for each of our family clients.

The placement plan contains detailed client requirements and family preferences, shortlist of suitable facilities and a timetable of work completed and planned to achieve the successful placement outcome.

Our family clients can request the current status of the tasks on the plan. This formal approach helps with communication between all interested parties, including social workers in the hospital.

We also request feedback from families of our services and where we can continually improve and revise our service for future family clients.

Reduced Aged Care Accommodation Fees

We have been successfully negotiating and reducing aged care accommodation fees for many years. If you would like to discuss your individual situation (and also reduce your own accommodation fees) - Contact Us
